| 12.30.12 | Redbox | We bought this from Redbox tonight because we needed something to watch and remembered liking the trailer. But neither of us could recall whether this film was every in theaters, so was this a VOD only release? Not sure, but it really doesn't matter, because it unintentionally highlights the utter awkwardness of having to deal with people you happened to go to school with a decade earlier. It was crazy.... these kids not only remembered who was in class with who, but who the teachers in each class were. I barely know the names of most of my co-workers. The film ultimately succeeds on its leads, which mostly means Rosario, Long, and Tatum. Those actors, as well as some of the secondary supports (Kate Mara was particularly great) float an otherwise uninteresting premise (who wants to watch people having to get super drunk to deal with the memories of their high-school years?). |
